July 4th - WSOP wrap up

Yesterday was Independance day all accross America, including Las Vegas where this year’s WSOP is well underway.
Event #8 ($2k Omaha Hi/Lo Split) was in it’s second day and it left with these results:

Seat 1: Florante “Rusty” Mandap - 156,000
Seat 2: Steve Lustig - 31,000
Seat 3: Cong Do - 99,000
Seat 4: Jeff Madsen - 225,000
Seat 5: Robert Collins - 156,000
Seat 6: Robert Mangino - 165,000
Seat 7: Russ Salzer - 142,000
Seat 8: Daniel Negreanu - 166,000
Seat 9: Jack Zwerner - 189,000

Yesterday was also Day 1 of Event #9 ($5k No-Limit Hold’em).� Some people refer to this as the warm up to the main event, the 10k no-limit hold’em, the cadillac of poker.� Event #9 left the following results:

3. Phil Hellmuth, Jr. - 126,300

One important thing to note is that Phil Helmuth finished in the money again, the 52nd time in his career.
