Team Bodog heads to Vegas

Poker pros David Williams, Josh Arieh & Evelyn Ng set out to take Vegas by storm, and do Calvin Ayre proud

Johnny Chan? Watch your back. Phil Hellmuth? Bring a box of Kleenex. When the 2006 WSOP No-Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event officially starts, it’ll be Bodog Founder & CEO Calvin Ayre’s Bodog Rat Pack all the way to the final table… baby. Read ‘em and weep.

Calvin Ayre & Bodog’s Rat Pack: Poker Pro’s best-looking cover ever

In the August issue of Poker Pro magazine, Bodog’s Rat Pack — aka David Williams, Josh Arieh and Evelyn Ng — sets out to prove why they’re the cover story to kick off the 2006 WSOP Championship Event. Could it be because they’re good at their game? Or because they look good playing it? Or… because poker is just too much damn fun? The Beat predicts it’s a combination of all those things, plus a little strategy. So… what’s their strategy going into the WSOP Championship Event?

“My strategy in poker is to attack the sucker,” says Arieh. “Find the weak link at the table and attack him.

A relative newcomer to Team Bodog, Ng offers this bit of strategy to novice players coming into the tournament: “The strategy is to not take too many large risks and to play the smaller pots.”
With Calvin Ayre behind them, the WSOP is going to be a blast

Williams, who has alredy captured his first [Seven-Card Stud] bracelet at the WSOP, says he’s 100 times better than he was two years ago and he’s ready to go all the way.

And Calvin Ayre stands behind him — and all other Team Bodog players — 100 percent.

“David continues to prove he’s one of the best poker players in the world, and I’m sure this is just the first of many more WSOP bracelets he’ll win over his career,” says Calvin Ayre. “To have a title this early in this year’s WSOP is exciting for all members of Team Bodog, and we’re anticipating many more victories.”
