As Republicans prepare to meet to discuss the upcoming vote on the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act, online poker players are having a meeting of their own.� Poker Players from all over the United States are preparing to protest a bill that many are calling unconstitutional.� The Poker Player’s Alliance is one such organization.

The bill, which was approved by the House of Representatives in June, would pass several laws that would prohibit financial transactions involving online gaming.� There is a vote in the Senate scheduled for later this year.

The potential fallout from this bill is that Internet Service Providers (ISPs) would have to prohibit access to offshore gambling sites.� This bill is contriversal to say the least.

Opposition to the bill comes primarily from Democrats who did not vote for the bill.� The main argument against the bill is that it does not do what it sets out to do.� Namely, there are provisions to allow for horse racing and lotteries, but online poker and casinos would be banned.

Some online gambling site, like bodogpoker, also are involved is other gaming activities.� Most would be outlawed to Americans, but some would not be.� While other well-established operations such as partygaming, owners of partypoker, would be completed abolished.
