High Stakes Poker, Season 3

Jamie_Gold_smiling2.jpgHuge wads of cash and some of the biggest names in poker will mark the beginning of season 3 of High Stakes Poker on GSN. The series will begin airing weekly on January 15th and will feature some interesting twists and, well, high stakes poker, as both professional and amateur players put their own money at risk (which usually involves enormous stacks of bills) to prove their cash game skills. The first episode will feature Team BodogPoker pro and WSOP Main Event winner Jamie Gold going up against such notable cash game and tournament players as Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Alaei, Shawn Sheikhan, Victor Ramdin, Bill Chen and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow.

The aforementioned twist happens during the second episode of the season, on January 22nd, when roles are reversed as popular commentator Gabe Kaplan steps down from the booth and asks if someone would like to relinquish their seat at the table. Negreanu happily steps aside and lets Kaplan sit down in his seat for a piece of the action. However, the twist continues when Negreanu then returns the favor by claiming Kaplan’s seat and calling the action with AJ Benza all the way through the next episode on January 29th. While this marks Negreanu’s broadcasting debut, does it also signal Negreanu’s desire to become a poker player turned commentator along the lines of Gordon, Hellmuth, and Seif?

GSN is also publishing podcasts on iTunes and additional video content on GSN.com. The podcasts will feature interviews with the players as they discuss their play and the video content will provide extended coverage and some behind the scenes footage from the taping of the show.

Don’t forget that you don’t need a pile of cash the size of the GDP of some small nations in front of you to play on Bodogpoker where there are limits to fit every bankroll, download bodog poker and get in to the action.
