Full Tilt Poker $25K Heads-Up World Championship

FullTilt Poker is hosting another major event which is scheduled to take place right after the FTOPS series has come to a complete. The first ever $25K Heads-Up World Championship is scheduled for May 24th and is grabbing the attention of not only some of the world’s top professional players but online players as well.

The tournament will begin on the Saturday and come to a complete on Sunday May 25th and although the initial buy in is the largest of its kind, and with a prize pool fixed at $1.6 million it will mean only the best of the best will get the chance to compete. That being said the poker room still wants to offer their online players the chance at taking down what is expected to be the most anticipated event so far this year. Full Tilt Poker will be hosting a few qualifiers costing $500+$35 and will be held on Thursday, May 22nd and one on Friday, May 23rd.

Only 64 players will be able to take part in this event and Full Tilt has opened up it up for early registration. If you want to take part you will need to act quickly. Any player who registers for the $25K will not be able to remove themselves from the tournament.

Rumour has it the event will see quite a few well known names such as Phil Ivey, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Gus Hansen, David Benyamine, Erik Seidel as well as some online players who are well known in the poker community at both P5’s and 2+2. Names that are expecting to play include; durrrr, the guru 11, OMGClayAiken, trex313, Actionjeff, and Genius28.

The tournament will allow players to rail as do all FullTiltPoker tournaments so if you don’t quite have the $25K sitting around to enter you can still login to Full Tilt and chat with the pros. Commentary will be added once the tournament has come to a closing with Phil Gordan and Ali Nehjad and the match will be replayed with some of the best hands during the event.
