Poker Pro Hal Lubarsky Signs On As Newest Full Tilt Pro

Professional poker player Hal Lubarsky has officially joined the immensely skilled team of poker pros at Full Tilt Poker, according to a report from Poker Daily News. As a Full Tilt Poker sponsored pro - joining the impressive ranks of Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman and many others - Hal Lubarsky can be found playing online poker exclusively at FullTilt.com and FullTilt.net.

The Las Vegas native became a media spotlight in the 2007 World Series of Poker when he became the first blind person to ever cash in the WSOP Main Event. Lubarsky’s inspiring poker talents earned him a 197th place finish in the 2007 WSOP Main Event.

At first, the WSOP was wary of allowing a blind person to participate in the prestigious event, with a caller on hand to aid him throughout the poker tournament. Lubarsky quickly changed their minds, however, with a simple statement. “I’m not trying to give you trouble, but I could probably make more money suing you than playing in the poker tournament.”

Enough said – Hal Lubarsky was permitted to play in the 2007 WSOP with a caller at his side. The caller would whisper into Lubarsky’s ear the Hole Cards he had been dealt, then call off the Community Cards as they came down.

As a result, Lubarsky made history by whittling his way through a field of 6,358 competitors to finish in the 197th spot, outlasting some of the top poker pros in the world, including Sorel Mizzi, Carlos Mortensen and Sang Kim, each of which placed in the top 300. Hal earned $51,398 for the awe-inspiring achievement.

In an interview with MSNBC after the amazing WSOP finish, Lubarsky stated that he was one of the world’s top poker players before losing his eye sight. “I was extremely well-known in cash games. I’ve played with all the big names except for Doyle [Brunson] and Chip [Reese].”

As the newest FullTilt.com Pro, Hal Lubarsky will once again being playing amongst top rated professional poker players in the world. Full Tilt Poker is known for having the largest and certainly most impressive team of sponsored poker pros including Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Phil Gordon, Erick Lindgren, Mike Matusow, Patrick Antonius, Clonie Gowen, Allen Cunningham, Andy Bloch and many more, as well as those mentioned earlier.
