Full Tilt Poker Open Heads-Up $200/$400 PLO For “Durrrr”

It wasn’t long ago that prolific internet poker player Tom “durrrr” Dwan challenged the poker world to an unprecedented heads-up confrontation. Dwan asked for anyone willing to compete against him, one-on-one, at high stakes Pot Limit Omaha, where he would stake 3-to-1 against their minimum $500,000.

Four well known poker pros have accepted the challenge – David Benyamine, Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro and Pros Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius - but Dwan has yet to face any of them at the tables. To better accommodate Tom “durrrr” Dwan and his challengers, Full Tilt Poker has just opened 4 new tables.

Each of them features $200/$400 PL Omaha and Heads-Up competition. The tables are expected to house Dwan and his first challenger, presumed to be Patrik Antonius, before any other online poker players take part in these virtual felts.

The rules of the Dwan challenge are fairly simple. “Durrrr” posts $1.5 million; his challenger $500,000. There will be four active tables running simultaneously for the two competitors, which should speed up the 50,000-hand requirement. After 50,000 hands have been played, if the challenger finishes with more than his starting total of $500,000, he wins.

The entire starting stacks – Dwan’s $1.5 million and the challenger’s $500k - go to the winner. Basically, someone will walk away with $2,000,000 in their pocket.

On an intriguing note, Dwan added in one stipulation to the rules. Virtually anyone is allowed to take up Dwan on this challenge, with the sole exception of his long time friend Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond.

An official date has not been set for the first competition to take place between Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Patrik Antonius. However, the water cooler is bubbling up with speculations that the two may face off at Full Tilt Poker within the week.
