Poker Terms Glossary - Burn
|
To discard a card from the deck, face down. The dealer “burns” a card before dealing another community card after a round of betting has occured. This is done mainly as a security measure in case a player at the table accidently (or purposely) saw the next card in the deck. Latest Poker News
